Editor Desk -- Finding Life's Purpose
I would like to quote one paragraph of Ineke Van Lint text, “ Finding Life's Purpose”
“ Many spiritual traditions revolve around one central question: Who am I? Even the business world ponders this crucial matter. According to business gurus, the first step on the road to success is asking yourself this very question: “ What is my mission? What on Earth am I doing? Am I in the right place?”
If you can't answer these questions, then you are wasting 90% of your time and energy doing things that are neither your mission nor your business!

Vastu at Work
One of the prime objectives for using Vastu in the workplace is to ensure good management, as harmonious relations between employers and employees will always improve a company's performance.
In many situations there is no apparent reason why one business has major financial problems while another is booming.
Customers may walk past and barely notice some stores and yet mysteriously be drawn into others.
Whatever the scenario, it is always best to employ the services of an experienced Vastu practitioner. In certain circumstances he or she may recommend major structural changes or advise vacating a property. Although this may not appear to make sense financially, the initial investment is often essential for the future smooth running of the company.

Directions and shapes
Your office should either be square or rectangular; if it is an irregular shape you need correction.
If office use is for marketing purpose it should be northwest facing & in northern zone of the building.

Your desk
Wherever your office is located, you should try to position the desk so that you face east or north while working, also you should ensure that it does not touch the northeast corner. The desk itself should be made of a good material such as wood or marble; try to avoid metal or plastic.

Desk Facing depends upon type of work you do in your office
All mental activities, professional works, art, fashion, designing, research, accounts, engineering, software developments, etc. should always face east while working.
All manipulative activities, which needs adjustments of thoughts, like managing finances, share brokerage, industrial heads, developers, builders, shop owners etc
The ancient Vastu texts take great heed of the direction you face while working, as practitioners believe it is fundamental to your state of mind.
If you face east you will have peaceful and noble thoughts.

Organizing your equipment
The area where you work should be kept clean and organized to prevent the accumulation of stagnant energy. Keep filing cabinets to the southwest side of you.

Decorations
It is a good idea to have a live plant, open space, red color lampshade, small indoor water fountain in the northeast, for this keeps the room fresh and symbolizes abundance.
Other images of wealth, such as Lakshmi, the Indian goddess representing fortune, or pictures of water, can be hung on the north or east walls.

What kind of Business?
According to Vastu failure in business, is attributed to the no adherence to Vastu principles.
Finding the right location for your offices depends upon the nature of the business.
Shops need to be located where there is a high proportion of pedestrian traffic, customer entering should have good feelings south & west facing shops are good, as customer when stepping in the shop faces north & east.

Choosing office space
When looking for suitable premises the same principles that apply to apartment blocks also apply to businesses.
It is best to avoid complexes that are built of reinforced concrete or contain too much metal, as exposure to such material over a long period can cause major health problems.
A taller building or flyover should not overshadow the property.
